Erectile dysfunction and a standing ovation

July 17th, 2019

What does eric shin, standing ovation, rocket in my pocket, unicorning and boner have in common?

They are all slang words used to describe an erection which happens to a man when he gets aroused or first thing in the morning otherwise known as ‘morning stiffness’.

How does an erection get erected?

In a nutshell… a penis stiffens when blood starts to flow into two chambers in a man’s sexual organs known as the corpora and cavernosal. That process causes the penis to expand and stiffen like a balloon filling with water, creating an erection. Most of the time an erect penis is a blessing, other times it’s embarrassing but generally speaking, men are grateful if their penis rises to the occasion. (1)

However, sometimes it doesn’t and that can be so upsetting, frustrating and embarrassing for a man. If you are one of those men, don’t despair, it’s more common than you think and there is lots of help out there.

Erectile dysfunction

It’s not uncommon for a man to experience erectile dysfunction(ED), otherwise known as ‘impotence’ which is an inability to get an erection or a ‘hard on’.

Rising to the occasion with an almighty erection isn’t always achievable. ED can happen to a man at any age and at different stages of his life – especially if he’s had too much to drink or has a new partner and is nervous. (2)

Did you know?

  • Over 140 million men worldwide suffer from ED
  • You can put a pellet at the opening of your penis that will trigger an erection in 10 minutes
  • Cycling can put pressure on a man’s perineum affecting the arteries and nerves vital to have an erection
  • ED can be a warning for an underlying medical condition including heart disease
  • Viagra isn’t the only drug available to help (ED). Other drugs include Sildenafil, Avanafil, Tadalafil, Vardenafil and Staxyn
  • Natural supplements can aid sexual functions, reducing the possibility of side effects experienced from medication

Are your Testosterone levels depleting?

As we age, our testosterone levels deplete. This can lead to a range of health problems including:

  • Loss of muscle mass and tone
  • Low sperm count
  • Hair loss
  • Fatigue
  • Increased body fat
  • Problems getting and maintaining an erection
  • Low sex drive/libido

If this sounds like you, look no further than SildenafilPro™. This unique blend of traditional medicinal plants, minerals and vitamins work to increase testosterone levels naturally and with no side effects, which is unlike other competing products on the market.

Confidence, self-esteem and masculinity…

ED can have devastating effects on a man and a relationship that he is in. When the moment comes and a man wants and needs their penis to stiffen and it doesn’t happen, it can knock the man’s confidence. It can lower his self-esteem and make him question his masculinity and self-worth and can also make a man angry with himself due to frustration.

Depression, stress, exhaustion, anxiety and overthinking can make a big difference to a man’s ability to achieve an erection.

Remember…

Intercourse is not an Olympic sport or a necessity, it’s a pleasure and if it’s not achievable there’s plenty of other options and ways to be pleasured or give pleasure.

Relationships

A partner to a man who has ED may no longer feel attractive to him and take his impotence personally. Impotence can sometimes undermine a relationship and cause damage potentially resulting in the partner seeking intimacy elsewhere. It is really important that a man discusses his concerns with his partner and asks for patience and support. Our body’s sexual responses change with age and it is normal for an erection to take longer to achieve as we get older. There’s nothing wrong with that, in fact, by the time you reach sixty-five you most probably don’t want just a ‘quickie’. (7)

Sharing a problem like ED with your partner can sometimes bring you both closer together. You don’t have to have penetrative sex to have a good time, good foreplay or even roleplaying can be more fun! Effective ways to reduce anxiety is taking a hot shower before sex and during love making doing deep meditative breathing. Doing sensual touching, spooning and holding each other.

Why can a man have ED?

There can be multiple reasons why a man can have ED it can be mental, physical or both.

Doctors and specialists can treat ED whatever a man’s age. Sometimes impotence can be an indication of underlying health problems such as heart disease, diabetes or the result of surgery for health problems such as prostate or bladder cancer where nerves and blood vessels near the penis are damaged.

A man should talk to their GP if he has concerns about:

  • Low libido
  • Poor sex drive
  • Getting and keeping an erection
  • Problems with ejaculation
  • Sexual impulses

Visiting your GP

It is advisable to visit a GP if experiencing problems, the doctor will ask a man questions about his symptoms, medical history and lifestyle.

A doctor will most probably do an examination and tests which may include looking for issues with:

  • Poor circulation
  • Nerve trouble in the genital area
  • Blood cell count
  • Sugar levels
  • Blood pressure
  • Cholesterol levels
  • Liver tests
  • Obesity
  • Smoking
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Use of drugs

Doctors, specialists and therapists can treat ED whatever a man’s age. Sometimes impotence can be an indication of underlying health problems such as heart disease, diabetes or the result of surgery for health problems such as prostate or bladder cancer where nerves and blood vessels near the penis are damaged. Taking certain medications due to a medical condition can also affect a man’s ability to get an erection.

Natural options for dealing with ED

To avoid possible side effects from ED medication or mixing medication, a man can take natural supplements to aid his strength and frequency of erections and drive libido.
