NAD+helps weight loss without dieting

April 24th, 2018

US scientists at the Department of Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado have discovered a natural dietary supplement that works to jump start chemical pathways in the body and help users to lose weight without strict dieting.

Known as Nicotinamide Riboside (NAD+), this all-natural supplement has been seen to have the same success as if you were to reduce food consumption by a third. The same changes activated in the body by dieting and fasting are seen in using NAD+, with the same health benefits including boosted immune response, disease protection, lowered blood pressure and antiaging.

A study on 24 people who took a daily dose of 1,000mg saw lowered blood pressure and slower metabolism as those who undertook calorie restriction.

Professor Doug Seals, a researcher in the Department of Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado has stated, that early testing indicated that Nicotinamide Riboside could also help decrease the risk of a heart attack by a quarter. It even showed potential benefits for sufferers of Alzheimer’s, although more research is required.
